Sona Mohapatra and Kangana Ranaut were caught up in a war of words on Twitter after the singer shared a few tweets about the Thalaivi actress, wherein she also reacted to Ranaut’s ‘selective feminism’ jibe, which was aimed at Anushka Sharma. The conversation escalated to Ranaut’s sister Rangoli calling Mohapatra ‘below average junk’, to which Sona reacted and hit back. Now, Sona Mohapatra thanks her fans for standing in her support against Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel’s ‘below average junk’ remark.
On Twitter, Sona Mohapatra tweeted, “धन्यवाद! Also thanks @Panjwani_99 for understanding how crude Ms Ranaut’s message to me was. That she wants to say that ‘actors’ are above ‘music makers’ in the Bollywood hierarchy shows her hypocrisy. Stand for ‘Indie pride’ & then insult the gift of Goddess Saraswati..pathetic.” The singer reacted to a tweet made by a fan where he mentioned that the songs Rupaiyya, Ghar Yaad Aate Hai Mujhe, Ambarsariya and Piya Se Naina are all exquisite, ineffable and wonderfully sung by Sona Mohapatra and said that he can listen to them on loop.
Moving on, as the singer thanked her for understanding how crude Ranaut’s message to her was, she went on to slam Kangana for standing for ‘indic pride’ and then insulting the gift of Goddess Saraswati. Mohapatra made another tweet and mentioned how since the last few days she was trolled for calling out the Ranaut's in two ways. Sona Mohapatra then said how Kangana has zero respect for music and mentioned how Brahma and Saraswati will be laughing the hardest. Read her tweets below:
As one fan also called out Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel for Nepotism, the singer also mentioned how she is glad that the youth of the country is listening to more than Bollywood music, to start with.
