Singer Sona Mahapatra who has been vocal about her opinions with the whole #MeToo movement continues to remain unfazed even now. The singer always knows how to stick to her grounds and put trolls in place with her befitting replies. Just a couple of hours ago, Sona once again was at the receiving end by a Twitter user. User taking a jibe at the singer mentioned how when she searched for Sona Mohapatra on the micro-blogging site topics related to Hindutva and she being a Hinduphobic popped up.
User wrote, “Ma'am itne bure din aa gaye kya aapke ke aap Twitter pe name search kar rahein ho aaur charo taraf sirf Hinduphobia hi dikh rahaa hain?” To which Sona replied explaining the difference between her being anonymous while Sona being a public figure and threats she had faced ever since she spoke against Salman Khan. She also explained how she did not blame any religion but misogyny. Sona’s tweet read, “Unlike you & your anon self I am a public figure. I was sent a series of threatening letters & much more from a Muslim organisation 2yrs ago for singing a Kalaam. Gang Rape & acid attack threats for criticizing Salman before that. I chose to blame misogyny & not religion.”
In the recent past, Sona came in support of Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel whose Twitter was suspended. Amidst this when she mistakenly took one of the users being Muslim who opposed her support to Rangoli’s genocide of Muslims.
