Bollywood legends Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar were both born and raised in Peshawar before the Partition and they migrated to Mumbai later. Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar’s ancestral homes are still there in Pakistan, and they were built years ago. While they are in a dilapidated condition now, the Pakistan government has decided to restore them and is planning to convert them into museums. Simi Garewal is delighted as she read about this, and hopes that Ranbir Kapoor inaugurates Raj Kapoor’s ancestral home.
Simi Garewal took to her Twitter and while reacting to an article about the Department of Archaeology in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa planning to convert the ancestral homes of Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar into museums, she wrote that it is ‘heartening’ to find out about this, and that if Raj Kapoor’s grandson Ranbir Kapoor could inaugurate Raj Kapoor’s ancestral home in Peshawar, it would be the life cycle of cultural heritage.
“So heartening to know that the erstwhile homes of Raj Kapoor & Dilip Kumar in Peshawar will be turned into museums after 100 years! How wonderful if #RanbirKapoor could inaugurate it! It would be the life cycle of a cultural heritage!” read Simi Garewal’s tweet.
