Sidharth Malhotra, who ventured into Bollywood with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year, recently revealed that was he was originally supposed to make his acting debut with a different film but it got shelved. The Ek Villain star, who is now counted among the top actors, also reflected back on his struggling days and revealed that he felt ‘completely lost’ when he came to Mumbai as a young boy with no contacts. Sidharth also mentioned that having started his career as an assistant director was a game-changer for him.
While speaking with radio host Siddharth Kannan, the handsome star said, “I came to Bombay when I was 20-21 years old. At that time, I was supposed to do a particular film with a different production house, different director. I was cast after being called in for an audition. I prepped for the film and waited for 6-8 months, but the project never took off. That director went on to make a film with another bigger actor, obviously so.”
Further, Sidharth Malhotra stated that to become an assistant director and learn by being on a film set, proved to be a game-changer for him. The actor feels very grateful to have got an opportunity to be on set as an AD, as it was the "film school training for him."
Meanwhile, the Marjaavaan actor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming flick Shershaah, which is based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, who died in the 1999 Kargil War. Also, starring Kiara Advani, the movie will release on Amazon Prime Video on August 12.
