Bengaluru's Ulsoor police have once again issued summons to the actor and director Siddhanth Kapoor to the city within a week in connection to the drug consumption case that was recently filed against him. He was arrested on June 13 at the hotel on MG Road, and his blood tests clearly indicated that he had consumed drugs, as reported by Hindustan Times.
The officials have summoned Kapoor to verify CCTV video from the night he was arrested - when there was a party and when he was caught with four others.
The latest Times Of India report quoted Kapoor informing the police that he had been given a drink by one person and a cigarette by another and was not sure how drugs ended in his system. The report also mentioned that about 35 people present at the party were subjected to blood tests and five of them included the 38-year-old actor, who tested positive for the same.
Interestingly, police also seized seven Ecstasy pills and a packet of marijuana from the party spot, and also found MDMA and ganja disposed of nearby.
Ulsoor cops have reportedly asked Kapoor to be present before the investigating officer within a week to view CCTV footage seized by police during the raid to verify who handed the actor the drink and the cigarette while he was DJing.
The Times Of India report added that the police have asked for clarification from Kapoor about the data retrieved from his mobile phone, which was also seized.
Interestingly the actor was granted bail in the drug case right a day after his arrest and issued a statement after his release praising Bengaluru Police for the work they have been doing.
“I have been cooperating. They should continue what they are doing to save many lives,” he said.
For the unversed, Siddhant Kapoor is the brother of Shraddha Kapoor and the son of actor Rishi Kapoor.
