There has been a lot of buzz around Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, mainly because it revolves around homosexuality, and sheds light on a topic that is rarely depicted and touched upon by the Hindi cinema. This romantic comedy-drama also stars Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, Maanvi Gagroo, and the trailer of the film just released a while ago. While Ayushmann was paired opposite Bhumi Pednekar in the quasi-prequel Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, this time he plays the role of a gay man. We take a look at the just-released trailer and compare it to Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.
Subject Of The Film:
While Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (SMS) starring Ayushmann and Bhumi dealt with erectile function and its effect on a couple about to get married, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan (SMZS) revolves around homosexuality, and shows Ayushmann in a same-sex relationship with Jitendra Kumar. While both the films tackle topics not much talked about, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan also delivers an important social message of inclusivity while also having the mainstream appeal for the mass audience as it promises to deliver plenty of laughs. Chemistry
Bhumi Pednekar and Ayushmann Khurrana’s chemistry was seen in Dum Laga Ke Haisha before SMS, and they brought the film alive once again with their amazing chemistry in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. However, going by the trailer, Ayushmann and Jitendra Kumar’s chemistry is something we’re definitely looking forward to more, given how refreshing it is.
Supporting Cast
Shubh Mangal Saavdhan had an amazing supporting cast, which is definitely hard to beat. Seema Pahwa and Neeraj Sood played Bhumi’s parents in SMS and shined in the film. Seema Pahwa had some really hilarious scenes and dialogues that she delivered to perfection. Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao look promising in the trailer, but it remains to be seen if they can top the stellar acting by Seema Pahwa and Neeraj Sood.
Music
While the music of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan was not very remarkable, Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan has some groovy fun tracks such as the remix version of Bappi Lahiri’s Yaar Bina Chain, that would add to the entertainment.
One-Liners
SMS had some great one-liners and Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan’s trailer promises this film to be even more hilarious with some great jokes, along with a message.
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is all set to hit the theatres on January 21, 2020.
