Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is one of the most anticipated films and there has been a lot of hype about it, given that it is Hindi cinema’s first mainstream gay film. The film revolves around homosexuality and sheds light on a topic that is rarely depicted and touched upon by the Indian cinema. Apart from Ayushmann, this film also stars Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, Maanvi Gagroo. The trailer of the film released a few days ago, and the kiss between Ayushmann and Jitendra soon became a hot topic of discussion.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Jitendra Kumar are all set to play a gay couple onscreen in Aanand L Rai’s Shubh Mangal Zyaa Saavdhan. While the producer was very apprehensive about the same-sex kiss in the film, the Censor Board has no objection to it. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the kiss will not only be retained in the trailer, but also in the film. A source close to SBFC revealed that no member of the censor board had an objection to it, but it was rather in another scene that Gajraj Rao utters an expletive, after seeing his son kissing a boy, which has been beeped. According to the report, a source close to producer Aanand L Rai said, “Aanand was very apprehensive about the kiss. He wanted a ‘U’ certificate for the trailer of Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. And for that, he was anxious that the CBFC would ask for the kiss to be removed. But no one objected to the kiss, only to the swear word that Gajraj Rao utters when the kiss happens.”

The CBFC is also considering to give the film a U/A certificate. Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is all set to hit the theatres on February 21, 2020.
