Shruti Haasan Is Not ASHAMED To Talk About Her Mental Health; Says, 'Have Been In Therapy For Three Years Now'

From a very long, the discussion around one's mental health has always been considered as a taboo and not a lot people talk about it in open. While many choose to keep their mental sufferings within them, we also have several exceptions that don't why when it comes to talking about something that needs utmost importance and limelight. Celebrities are a prime example here. With having a fan following in millions, many of them make it a point to spread awareness and shatter the stereotypes surrounding mental health and its discussion. The list also includes actress Shruti Haasan, who in an interview with Hindustan Times, opened up her ordeal and how she is dealing with it.

"Being at home during a global pandemic and stuck in lockdown is an unnatural situation. It affects people in a variety of ways and one of them is their mental health. I definitely think mental health crisis is a very real problem. But people are usually cautious or are ashamed to talk about it,” said Shruti. She further confessed to undergoing therapy from the past three years and also advised the same for everyone who's suffering from mental illnesses. "I am in therapy for three years now. I seriously recommend therapy for people, who need it. I have tools and meditation that help me," she added.

Shruti Haasan has been spending her lockdown alone, with her cat. Upon being asked what keeps her busy these days, Shruti revealed, "The toughest thing in a lockdown is not having physical contact with people as I am completely alone in my flat. But I have been quite busy during the lockdown. I have been shooting for magazine covers, making music long distance, writing a lot of music and writing in general. This time has been very productive for me."


The Welcome 2 actress continued that even after the pandemic ends, it will take some time for the world and all of us to get back to a normal life.
