Shraddha Kapoor starrer upcoming ‘Nagin’ trilogy has been making headlines ever since the project was announced. The Aashiqui 2 actress will be playing a never-before-seen avatar-Naagin in Nikhil Dwivedi’s film. Recently, the buzz has it that the film has been put on hold because of its massive budget and due to the current slump-like situation in the film industry. Mid-Day reported that Nagin has got delayed owing to the amount of VFX and its budget making the makers nervous.

The report added that the film was supposed to go on floors in the summer of this year but got delayed in the wake of the current market in Bollywood. The insider was quoted saying, “Nagin is a VFX-heavy film that was to be made on a massive budget. Given the current dry spell in the market, the makers want to hold the project, and revisit it later.” As these reports gained momentum, producer Nikhil Dwivedi reacted to his film getting delayed. He dismissed all such rumours calling them fake and baseless. Nikhil stated, “The news for completely fake. The trilogy of Naagin has not been put on hold. He revealed that the film is very much in the pipeline and he will soon be sharing an update on the same. Talking about playing Naagin on the silver screen for the first time, Shraddha in a statement had said it was an absolute delight for her to play a role like this that is rooted in Indian traditional folklore. She also talked about idolizing the late Sridevi and watching her films Nagina and Nigahen to get inspiration. This project will mark Kapoor’s comeback as she was last seen in the 2020 released actioner Baaghi 3 with Tiger Shroff.
