Humara Movie has come up with an anthology of 7 short films titled Shor Se Shuruaat. The production house roped in filmmakers like Imtiaz Ali, Zoya Akhtar, Homi Adajania, Nagesh Kukunoor, Mira Nair, Sriram Raghavan and Shyam Benegal to mentor young filmmakers in a bid to bring new-age content to the audiences.

Today we got in touch with Shyam Benegal's mentee, Pratik Rajen Kothari, who directed the short film Hell O Hello. Having adored Benegal all his life, the budding filmmaker told SpotboyE.com about their collaboration.

The story is about an innocent consumer, Bholanath, and Ashok and Shiv Kumar, the sales executives of two rival telecom brands who are trying to lure him into buying a SIM card from their respective companies.

They say they empower the consumer. They say that customer is the king. They give him various offers, packages, special discounts and they sell him a lot of ‘schemes’. From a paltry chaiwala to the leading manufacturer of an aircraft, everybody has a product to sell in today's world. Pratik dwells upon this aspect of the world of consumerism in a hilarious way.

Hell O Hello, as a short satire, manages to bring in the flavours of story telling that is a signature of Shyam Benegal.

Shor Se Shuruaat will also feature other short films like Dhvani, Decibel, Azaad, Yellow Tin Can Telephone, Aamer and Mia I'm - all made under the common theme of 'Shor' (Noise).

Shor Se Shuruaat releases worldwide on December 16.
