Karan Johar is one of the most prominent personalities in the industry. He continues to don multiple hats from filmmaking to judging reality shows to hosting one of the most sensational shows - Koffee With Karan. Now, he is back with the seventh edition of Koffee With Karan 7 on Disney+ Hotstar.
While the most loved part of the show is rapid fire and it has ultimately let to many controversies. In a recent interview, KJo said that sometimes he has to step in to make things right.
In the recent interaction with IANS the ‘My Name Is Khan’ director was asked if he has ever stepped in to save the day, answering the same he said, “Many times, it has happened that I had to step in to douse the fire after rapid-fire. I remember when Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone came to the show and spoke whatever they had to, Chintu ji (Rishi Kapoor) was very upset. I had to step in to make things alright. I have shows banned and taken off air, which I felt terrible for.”
Interestingly, the host said that many a times he had sat on the edit table and removed the chunks which would have created a storm in the industry.
He was quoted saying, “I have had times where I have actually edited comments made on the show by celebs before the telecast because I felt that it would land up in trouble. Many times actors have called me directly requesting to cut something that they have said as a slip of tongue. I have done this because for me relationships come before everything.”
Meanwhile, the first episode of Koffee With Karan 7 has already aired and it featured Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. In the second episode, Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan will grace the couch, showing off their candid side.
On the professional front, KJo is returning to the direction with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, a romantic drama with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt scheduled to release next year.
