Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has recently opened up about winning the international reality show ‘Big Brother’ and the apprehensions she had about it. She also revealed her mother Sunanda’s reaction to her decision to participate in the reality show-which changed Shilpa’s life and played an important role in shaping her career. In a recent interview, the Dhadkan actress admitted that she was scared after watching a few older episodes. Shilpa decided to do the reality show when she was facing a lull phase in her career and without knowing much about it she took part in it.

Speaking to Mashable India, Shilpa said, “I saw a couple of episodes and I got scared with what I saw. I said I am not going to do all of this. So my contract was very watertight. My mother told them very clearly ‘Listen we are Indians, and we won’t do this baring all and all of that.” She went on to confess that she initially thought she would be able to last only two weeks. While recalling her victory, Shilpa mentioned that she won the show because of the massive support she received from the South Asian community in the UK. She said not just Indians, Pakistanis, and Bangladeshis but all desi voted for her and made her win ‘Big Brother’. For the unversed, the 47-year-old actress participated in Big Brother in 2007 and competed against 14 popular celebrities. During her stint inside the house, Shilpa made headlines after her co-contestant Jade Goody made some racist remarks about her.

Meanwhile, Shilpa is making her comeback to acting with the upcoming film Nikamma. Also starring Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia, the Sabbir Khan’s directorial will release this Friday, ie on 17 June 2022.
