Veere Di Wedding starring Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar, and Shikha Talsania was a huge hit. In June 2020 as the film clocked two years, there were reports that makers are planning to come back with its sequel and the four ladies were all set to reprise their roles. Shikha joined Spotboye for an exclusive conversation and spoke about the same.
It was reported that the shoot will begin once Kareena Kapoor delivers her second baby (Jeh). Talking to Spotboye, Shikha Talsania opened up on the sequel. While she did not spill any hint, Shikha did say she was ready for the film. The actress says, "Well I am waiting for Reha (Kapoor) to call me I am ready. She is the master of our ship and she Is The Veere that you need to ask this question to but yeah I really want you to ask her."
Meera, Shikha's character in the film made the audience cry and laugh and was also one of the most loved roles. Veere Di Wedding, directed by Shashanka Ghosh, is one of the most beautiful films about friendship. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar, Sonam Kapoor, and Shikha Talsania star in the film as best friends who are always there for one other.
The actress also opened about being typecast, "Yes, of course, I don’t think it’s a secret but I think every actor is typecast, if you take any actor‘s name, say for example Ranveer (Singh) is always typecast as a hero and then we see him do different themes, characters; he is suddenly playing an antagonist and stuff like that. I think collectively and consciously, things have changed in terms of storytelling and even casting for that fact. I have been typecast and it is difficult, but you know those parts that I have played of a person, I will never ever regret doing this because they are a part of being more inclusive and diverse in our industry. We are finally moving beyond that and seeing different kinds of characters and advanced characters, always stick to that characters which are very nuanced, which are more just a line of description. So I am very thankful for that and hope I get different works like this," says Shikha.
On the work front, Shikha Talsania was recently seen in Marathi film Shantit Kranti,' which is currently streaming on Sony LIV.
