Shekhar Suman is one of the celebs who demanded CBI enquiry in actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death due to suicide. The senior actor during a conversation with Navbharat Times, revealed of his son Adhyayan Suman too had suffered with depression and had suicidal thoughts, but back then the family stood by him and gave him courage to fight against it. The actor revealed now after Sushant’s death, he is again worried about his son. Adhyayan made his debut in 2008 with the movie, Haal-e-dil.
Empathizing with Sushant’s father’s pain he said, “Sushant was like a son to me. I can understand his father's pain. This is because just like him, my son Adhyayan too has suffered depression and has gone through a similar phase. The film industry created several hurdles for him. Once, he even told me that he was having suicidal thoughts.” The actor revealed when his son shared with him of being depressed and having suicidal thoughts, the family made sure to be around him and encourage him to fight against it.
Revealing about this phase in his son’s life, he mentioned how they used to check on him and peek in his room, on certain intervals. “I used to peek in his room just to check that he was okay. It has happened several times that I had opened his door to check on him at 4 or 5 o'clock in the morning, only to find him staring blankly at the ceiling. I used to ask him to sleep and that we all are there to stand by him,” he adds.
