Bollywood filmmaker Shekhar Kapur’s ex-wife Suchitra Krishnamoorthi took the nation by storm, when she opened up about him cheating on her while they were married. In an interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan, she had gone on to talk about his patriarchal mindset and how she wanted to divorce after their first year of marriage, but stayed back because she got pregnant. Now days after her shocking revelations, Kapur has now penned a heartbreaking and cryptic poem.
Taking to Instagram, he shared his monochromatic photo and expressed through the poem how he feels jealous, greedy, angry, hurt and all the other emotions. A part of his poem reads, “I am confused and riddled with doubt of course I am I am after all only human and yet I long I yearn I aspire to be compassionate to be creative to be whole to be infinite.” He went on to tag his daughter Kaveri Kapur on the post. For the unversed, the couple had tied the knot in 1999 and filed for divorce in 2007. In her interview, Suchitra has revealed that she had met the filmmaker when she was 19 and got married to him when she was 22. Calling her marriage to the filmmaker karma, the 47-year-old shared, “I feel that my marriage to Shekhar Kapur was karma that I had to fulfil. Because when I met him I got obsessed. When I was a 10-12-year-old kid, I used to think that I will either marry Imran Khan (former cricketer and former PM of Pakistan) or Shekhar Kapur. I went to meet him when he was casting for a film called, Champion. However, the film didn’t see the light of day. Then I kept meeting him and one thing led to another.”
