Shashi Kapoor passed away yesterday at 79 after prolonged illness. He was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital on December 3.
His
funeral is taking place in Santacruz. The film industry has gathered to pay
their last respects to the legend. Saif Ali Khan, Randhir Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor,
Lara Dutta, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak and Sanjay Dutt have arrived for his
cremation. Salim Khan, Ayaan Mukerjee, Hansal Mehta, Shakti Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan have reached as well.
His elder son Kunal was by his bedside when his end came.
His daughter Sanjana and his younger son Karan rushed as soon as they heard the
news. Both of them were out of station when the veteran star breathed his
last.
The actor has been ailing for quite some time and was
confined to a wheel chair.
As soon as the news of his demise spread, celebs such as Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Kajol, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor reached his Juhu residence, Janki Kutir.
Late last night, Amitabh Bachchan, also wrote a heartrending blog on working with Shashi Kapoor and his thoughts when he first saw him.

grief over the superstar’s death.
