Richa Chadha has stepped into the shoes of the sultry Shakeela. The biopic is soon to release and the trailer of the same has managed to make the right amount of noise among all. After several delays due to COVID-19, Shakeela is finally set to release. However, there are several comparisons that are being made between Shakeela and Vidya Balan's The Dirty Picture. In her latest interview, Richa Chadha has opened up on these comparisons and said that she is grateful that she is being compared to Vidya.
In an interview with Zoom Digital, Richa Chadha stated that comparisons are inevitable because both of them essayed the characters of South actresses from the same era doing similar roles. She also added that she feels really grateful to be compared to someone as dignified as Vidya Balan.
Shakeela also stars Pankaj Tripathi in a role of a superstar. Recently, the actor had spoken upon the great views received by the trailer of Shakeela on YouTube. He had said, "I’m elated with the response to Shakeela’s trailer. It’s a compelling story said truthfully and it’s great to know that people have received the trailer with such amazing response. I had a great time essaying this role and it was something that I haven’t tried or done before. This story will surely entertain people but will also make them think of the sometimes double standards we have pertaining to stories of some characters who have been wrongly boxed into being someone without knowing their life story. I’m glad Indrajit took it to him to make this film and write such well-researched characters. I’m thankful to the audiences who have showered us with their confidence and support."
Shakeela is said to release on December 25 and it will hit more than 1000 screens.( Also Read: Shakeela Trailer Review: Do We Really Need A Biopic On An Actress Whose Films Were For Sex-Starved Morning Show Frequenters? - OPINION)
