The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) served a notice to Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor yesterday, after its insecticide team visited the actor’s Juhu home and found mosquito breeding spots in his private swimming pool.
Reacting to the BMC’s action, Shahid’s spokesperson said a short while ago, “Shahid is concerned about the BMC’s findings in his building and the locality. Especially so, with the presence of a newborn baby in the house. He is also thankful to the municipal corporation for the check-up that they conducted in the locality which is vulnerable during the rainy season and due to its proximity to the beach.”

The concern, we are sure, is real. Vidya Balan, who stays just a couple of floors above Shahid’s ground-floor home, is already down with dengue (Vidya Balan Down With Dengue, Sept 16).

According to BMC officials, they were carrying out routine inspection in the Juhu Tara Road area. The team was initially denied entry to the actor’s home and they had to seek police assistance. During inspection, they found a large number of Aedes Aegypti mosquito breeding spots in Shahid’s swimming pool.
