Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, became an overnight sensation  after he made his debut with Ishq Vishk in 2003. He became the new chocolate boy in town, whose smile melted a lot of hearts. His ever increasing fan base often referred to him as ‘cute’. However, did you know that he hated being called that word?

In a recent media interaction, Shahid opened up about how he hated it when people told him he was cute. He found the term very limiting. While he never liked that word, he has learnt to accept the compliment very gracefully. The actor told Pinkvilla, “I used to hate it when people used to say ‘Oh, you are cute’. I used to hate it. Like why would you say that to anybody? I never liked that word. I have learnt to be graceful and accept when people throw it at you. I just felt like it was very limiting.”

The 42-year-old actor will be completing 20 years in Bollywood in April. Talking about his career graph, Shahid called his journey very psychotic. Reminiscing about his movie choices, the actor wondered what he was thinking at the time. He told the entertainment publication, “It’s been pretty psychotic. What was I thinking with some of the choices? Kaminey followed by Dil Bole Hadippa. And Haider followed by R Rajkumar. I don’t know what was going on with me.”

Shahid added another feather to his illustrious career with his OTT debut web-series Farzi which also starred Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. The actor spoke about how for the last few years, the Hindi film fraternity has been making disappointing movies. He said, “I think some of the choices that, let’s just say as a community, the film fraternity has made in the last 3-4 years have not been good so we all have to come together to make stronger, better, clearer choices with more awareness of where things are and how the audience is feeling and how to keep them happy and satisfied.”
