Not very long ago, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput were spotted hitting a gym in Bandra, despite the government’s preventive measures to stay at home amid the coronavirus outbreak. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the gym in question was specially opened for the couple to work out, contrary to the Indian government’s order of shutting all the gyms in Maharashtra. While the trainer rubbished all such claims and called it simple catch-up between friends, it appears that the BMC has now sealed that gym for breaking the law and for their ‘irresponsible behaviour’.
As per Mumbai Mirror, Vinayak Vispute, the Assistant Municipal Commissioner of H-West ward, revealed that the BMC has issued in writing to Shahid Kapoor and Yudhishthir Jaising (the trainer) for violating a health advisory issued by the government and possessing a risk to public safety. "It was wrong on the part of the gym to remain open, even for one patron. If gymnasiums don't follow state directives, they will be booked under relevant sections and licenses will be revoked,” said the report. The letter read, “By orders of Assistant Commissioner, the Anti-Gravity gym is sealed till further orders. Please note.”
According to MM, Shahid and Mira were working out in the gym for around 2 hours. The gym was shut the entire day; however, it was specially opened for the star couple at around 5:30 pm on Sunday. And soon after the couple saw a Mirror photographer, they exited the gym through another exit.
Yudhishthir Jaising, on the other hand, had debunked all the claims by saying. “He has been shooting in Chandigarh and had asked me to get some equipment after he sustained an injury (tendonitis). I was showing him the right way to use the equipment. In any case, we work out and train together at each other's houses. It was only Shahid, Mira and me, just friends chilling on a Sunday evening."
