Shahid Kapoor, who at the moment is enjoying being a
hands-on dad to Misha, attended the finale of Movie Mela at the ongoing Jio
MAMI 18th Film Festival yesterday. The actor looked dishy in a pair of
denims and check shirt as he sat down for a conversation with Rajeev Masand
and Anupama Chopra. While the actor touched upon his Bollywood journey and
upcoming film, Padmavati, the highlight of the conversation were the candid
confessions he made about wife Mira and daughter Misha.
Talking about how life has changed after marriage, the actor said, “Earlier, I
was the master of my own will, now that isn’t the case. I have become a lot
more centered since I got married.”
He went on to say that Mira and he bring out the best in
each other. “I recall that after winning awards for Haider, I wanted to sit
with someone and talk to someone. It was an empty house and now there is
happiness.”
He added, “I always wanted to marry someone who is real
and normal. Mira pulls me back and gives a fresh perspective to things. In
fact, she is opinionated and I never second guess her opinion.”
Talk about daughter Misha and it’s evident that life has
taken a turn for the better since she came into Shahid’s life. The actor says
that he cannot define what being a father is like and is nothing short of
amazing, “Misha gives me a lot of strength. Life is all about her now. I
feel like I am ready to protect and even fight for her. I Want to be my
best for Misha. I never want to leave home once I return to my wife and baby.”
Addressing the cute little struggles of being a father,
Shahid quipped, “With a baby, I wake up every 3 hours. I change diapers
and most of my T-shirts have Misha’s vomit and milk stains on them.”
