This is going to be huge! Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan teaming up for a Sanjay Leela Bhansali project. Reports of them collaborating on the untitled movie have been there since quite some time now. However, the latest buzz doing the rounds of the web is that the movie will be a remake of the 1952 Meena Kumari cult classic, Baiju Bawra.
There has been no official word on this yet, but the filmmaker has apparently registered 3 titles- Baijnath, Baiju and Baiju Tansen. Reportedly, Priyanka Chopra was approached for the film, but Salman expressed apprehensions after she walked out of Bharat.
Speaking of the Khans, they have worked together in movies like Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Karan Arjun. Recently, they even did cameos for each other. SRK did a guest appearance in Salman Khan’s Tubelight, whereas Salman did a special song in SRK starrer Zero.
Baiju Bawra was helmed by Vijay Bhatt. The movie made Meena Kumari the recipient of the first-ever Filmfare Best Actress Award in 1954. It was fictional story of dhrupad musician Baiju who challenged Akbar’s legendary court musician Tansen for a musical duet to avenge the death of his father.
