Much to everyone’s dismay, according to the latest reports, the veteran star Shashikala who played the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s mother in Badshah has departed for her heavenly abode at the age of 88. The actor who has done more than 100 films in her filmy career hreportedly breathed her last at her residence in Mumbai. However, an official statement from her family is still awaited. Remembering the veteran actress, actor Ronit Roy shared on Twitter, "Shashikala ji... RIP”. She was also seen in a special appearance in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… where she played the role of Ashfaque's grandmother. That’s not it, she even played a pivotal Mujhse Shaadi Karogi as Salman Khan's grandmother, also starring Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra.
After her tragic demise, netizens started pouring in condolence messages and are penning some heartfelt tributes on social media. Among many, one tweeted, "RIP #Shashikala Ji Bouquet Don't know why but when i heard the news that Iconic song "Tum Jiyo Hazaaron Saal" came in mind. This scene from Bimal Roy's Cult #Sujata (1960).
