Kabir Khan, from Chak De! India, is inarguably the best role ever played by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. SRK lived Kabir in all his emotions and phases, and gave us a movie of a lifetime. Reel became real on Sunday, when India's Women's Hockey Team upset the mighty Australia and entered the semi-finals at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics 2020. SRK channeled his inner Kabir Khan, aka head coach of the team, and asked the team to bring home gold on November 2/Dhanteras.
Coincidentally, Dhanteras this year falls on November 2 -- SRK's birthday. For the unversed, Dhanteras is a festival in Hindu calendar, celebrated two days before Diwali. The day is marked by purchasing objects of gold - as a good luck ritual. It so happened that Sjoerd Marijne, the chief coach of the Indian women hockey team, posted a picture of the team along with the staff. He tweeted, “Sorry family , I coming again later." (simply meaning the coach would be weeks late to return home as the team has miles to go before they sleep)
SRK quoted this tweet and said, “Haan haan no problem. Just bring some Gold on your way back….for a billion family members. This time Dhanteras is also on 2nd Nov. From: Ex-coach Kabir Khan.”
SRK's tweet got the real coach to reply. He tweeted, “Thank you for all the support and love. We will give everything again. From: The Real Coach.”
Aaah! Don't we love such exchanges? *heart eyes*
