Here’s good news for all the Shabana Azmi fans. The actress, who met with a severe car accident on the Mumbai-Pune highway on Saturday was first rushed to MGM Hospital in Panvel in Navi Mumbai. She was later shifted to Mumbai's Kokilaben hospital. If online reports are to be believed then it states that the Neerja actress is on the road to recovery and will now be discharged soon.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Shabana Azmi, who’s in the hospital since Saturday, is doing fine now and all of her reports are positive now. Confirming the same to the leading entertainment portal, the actress’s husband and lyricist Javed Akhtar said “There is good news. All tests and medical reports including the MRI are positive. No serious harm was done. The unfortunate incident took place just a night after the actress celebrated her husband’s 75th birthday with a theme party. Soon after she was shifted to the Kokilaben hospital, the who’s who of Bollywood were seen dropping by the hospital to see the actress. Farhan Akhtar with girlfriend Shibani Dandekar, Honey Irani with daughter Zoya Akhtar, Farhan’s ex-wife Adhuna Bhabani, Vipul Shah, Ashutosh and Sunita Gowariker, Farah Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Vicky Kaushal and Jeetendra among others were snapped outside the hospital.
Yesterday, SpotboyE brought you an exclusive health update of the actress, Boney Kapoor told us, “Shabana Azmi is improving rapidly. The MRI was done and it was clear. She is not on sedation anymore. However, she will remain in the ICU for about 48 hours more just to see if everything is maintained well enough.”
For the uninitiated, Shabana’s driver Amlesh Yogendra Kamat has been accused of rash driving by the truck driver named Rajesh Pandurang Shinde with whom Azmi’s car rammed into and an FIR has been lodged against him.
