To say that Harshvardhan Kapoor's Bollywood debut did not make a splash will be an understatement. The young turk's first film, Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra's Mirzya, tanked at the box-office and failed to impress the critics too. This despite the fact that dad Anil Kapoor and elder sister Sonam Kapoor threw their might behind the film during the promotional spree which preceded the release.

Now everyone’s dream is to debut in Bollywood with a commercial hit. Therefore debutants tend to pick mainstream romances or action flicks, from Sunny Deol’s Betaab to Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti.

But Harshavardhan, who has been open about his apathy for Bollywood potboilers, opted for a rather different route. He chose an artsy, period love story with another new face, Saiyami Kher. But the gamble did not pay off and neither Mirzya nor Harshvardhan made an impact.

Well, if sources are to be believed, then this seems to have worried papa Anil. To add to his anxieties, Harshvardhan has picked another off-beat film to be his second offering. Kapoor Jr's next will be the vigilante drama Bhavesh Joshi.

Anil Kapoor has tried to reason with Harshvardhan and convince him to pick a few mass entertainers. But the young Kapoor has a different plan for himself and wants to focus on realistic films. So now the concerned dad has called in back-up and it is none other than Salman Khan.

A source told SpotboyE.com, “Anil Kapoor wanted to launch his son Harshvardhan in a grand scale romantic film whereas Harshvardhan wanted to launch himself with an off-beat film like Mirzya.  But Anil now wants his good friend Salman to help his son and guide him towards decisions which will help cement his position in Bollywood. And Anil has already spoken with Salman for the same.”
