Legendary choreographer Saroj Khan passed away due to cardiac arrest. She breathed her last early morning on July 3, at Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai. She had reportedly been admitted to the hospital on June 17 after she complained of breathing issues. Soon after her demise, social media was flooded with posts mourning the huge loss. Saroj Khan was laid to rest at Muslim cemetery, Mumbai by her family at around 7 am.
A prayer meet in memory of Saroj Khan will be held next week, informed her daughter Sukaina. She told PTI, “We buried her at around 7 am. The prayer meeting will be held after three days.” Celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Jacqueline Fernandes, Bhumi Pednekar, Taapsee Pannu among others expressed their grief over Saroj Khan’s death and offered condolences to the late choreographer’s family.
Saroj Khan had trained the most popular Bollywood stars such as Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi, Malaika Arora, Kareena Kapoor Khan, among others. She was famously called ‘Masterji’ by the industry stars and in her career spanning 40 years, she choreographed more than 2,000 songs.
The last song she choreographed was for Madhuri Dixit for the film Kalank. Mourning Saroj Khan’s demise, Madhuri Dixit tweeted, “I'm devastated by the loss of my friend and guru, Saroj Khan. Will always be grateful for her work in helping me reach my full potential in dance. The world has lost an amazingly talented person.
