Legendary Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan passed away today at early hours. The ace choreographer died due to a sudden cardiac arrest at the Guru Nanak hospital in Mumbai. According to a report in Aaj Tak, Saroj Khan opened up about her converting to Islam during an interview with a Pakistan based channel. Saroj Khan was a Hindu by birth and it was during the partition when her parents migrated to India. Talking about converting to Islam, Saroj Khan mentioned that she converted after her marriage to businessman Sardar Roshan Khan. Speaking of the reason she did so, Saroj Khan mentioned that there were two big reasons that backed her decision.
Talking about her first reason, she mentioned that she loved watching young children follow Islam and worship their deity. Saroj Khan revealed that the interest the children had towards Islam, she did not see the same happening in Hinduism and hence decided to convert.
Revealing details about her second big reason to convert to Islam, Saroj Khan said that her decision was also backed by a dream she saw. The choreographer revealed that in her dream she saw a young girl calling out to her from inside a mosque. She mentioned that the girl also addressed her as a mother and called her again and again, which led to her converting to Islam. Saroj Khan also revealed that she was not forced or under any pressure to convert to Islam. The choreographer converted to Islam in Mumbai’s Jama Masjid.
