Sarika On Senior Actors INSULTING Her For Not Applying Makeup In 'Griha Pravesh': 'Yeh Aise Heroine Thodi Na Hoti Hai’

Veteran actress Sarika in a new interview spoke about receiving taunts from senior actors for not applying makeup in her film ‘Griha Pravesh’. She recalled how during the shoot of the movie senior actors' came to her and taunted her saying someone who hasn't “backcombed her hair or applied makeup' can't be a heroine.” Sarika also opened up about her daughters Shruti and Akshara Haasan and how cinema has evolved in all these years.

Speaking with Pinkvilla, the actress recalled, “When I did film Griha Pravesh, I didn't like using makeup and some of the senior actors came to me and said 'yeh kya hai na back combing kiya hai na makeup lagaya hai yeh aise heroine thodi na hoti hai (what is this, you have neither done backcombing nor applied makeup, this isn't how heroines are).' Further, talking about her daughters, Sarika asserted both her girls are independent in their own way and are hardworking women trying to make a mark in their life. She added that this generation is very different and so do the style of work.

Sarika, who started her acting career as a child actor, is known for her work in films like ‘Geet Gaata Chal’, ‘Madhu Malti’, ‘Jaan-E-Bahaar’ and ‘Jaani Dushman’. In mid-2000, she made a comeback and was featured in movies like Bheja Fry and Parzania. The veteran actress was last seen in Sooraj Barjatya-directed Uunchai, which was released on 11 November 2022. It also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa, Neena Gupta, and Parineeti Chopra.
