A few months ago, PM Narendra Modi took the entire country by storm after he had announced the scrapping of Article 370 that provided special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Now, after its abrogation, the Indian territory of Jammu and Kashmir, along with its residents, is an official part of the Indian constitution and will have to follow its regulations. This historic decision opened to a mix response. While many supported PM Modi, there was also a section of people that criticised him. One such case is that actor Saqib Saleem, who was at the receiving end of trolls and backlash after he expressed his two cents on the same. The actor was, in fact, labeled as an anti-nationalist and was asked to go to Pakistan.
Now, in a conversation with Zoom, the Race 3 actor has opened up on his ordeal and revealed how he had lost touch with his family, who resides in Kashmir, for more than two months. "I have family in Kashmir, and you're telling me everything is okay in Kashmir no problem has happened. I have not spoken to them for 65 days. You stay in Bombay; you have all the luxuries in the world. If I tell you one day your phone is not going to work. What would happen to you? The world would come to a standstill. Just show some sort of heart, guys,” said the actor.
Further, Saqib revealed that trolls asked him to go to Pakistan, just because he expressed his wish of reuniting with his family in Kashmir. He added that after more than days of stress and concern, he finally got to spoke to his brother only after BSNL started their lines again. “I only want to talk to my family and you're telling me to go back to Pakistan because I want to go back to my family," he added.
