Sanjay Dutt's daughter Trishala Dutt is very active on social media. She often shares a lot of life experiences and more on Instagram. She is a psychotherapist in New York. Recently, she conducted a chat with her fans on social media. One of the fans asked her if she herself undergoes therapy considering she listens to so many traumatic stories in her profession. To this, she revealed that it is very important for a therapist to be in therapy given that they cannot share details of their clients' stories with anyone.
Trishala penned a long note saying that therapists cannot share much details about the patient and the trauma he/she is going through with anyone, thus leading to heaviness. She wrote, "Yes, It's mandatory. We hear about difficult, sometimes traumatic experiences each day, as our clients share their issues. We too occasionally have personal problems and things we would like to work through. Some may wonder, however do therapists know how to handle their issues, based on their training? But just because we are trained, doesn't mean we don't sometimes need help as well. Because therapy is confidential, a therapist can't share too many specifics to unload the stuff we hear in therapy. We can tell a partner we've had a rough day, give a vague comment, maybe state we are helping someone with a terrible trauma, that's it!"
She further wrote, "Simply put, we can't confide in spouses or friends the way people in many other jobs can, so the heaviness of the day may linger even after our session is over." Check out her post below:
