Fans thronging a location to catch a glimpse of their matinee idol, is not a new phenomenon. However, many a times, it does more harm than good. Take this case for instance.

A couple of days ago, the team of Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film, Bhoomi, moved 15 kms outside Agra to shoot a wedding sequence.  The security arrangement was in place and the makers were at the venue for a night shoot, but what was came next was unexpected.

As the news of Sanjay being around spread, crowds gathered to meet the actor. So much so that the security couldn’t manage swarm of people and the shoot was cancelled.

A source from the unit said, “We were shooting at Kaushal Bajpai house in a village called Bamrauli Katara near Agra on Thursday. It was a night shoot and we had more than adequate security in place. Apart from Sanjay sir's bodyguards, the state police force had deployed their men on location.”

The source added, “We didn't realise when the crowd wildly multiplied, with some turning unruly. It wasn't safe for Sanjay sir to come out for the shoot. Aditi (Rao Hydari, who plays his daughter) was also part of the scene. We waited for hours for the crowd to thin out before calling off the shoot."

Director Omung Kumar confirmed the news to a section of media and said, "We were all set to roll, but thousands of people just took over our set. We couldn't manage the crowd; it was impossible to shoot that night. It was in the best interest of everyone to cancel it."

Bhoomi, a revenge drama, revolves around the relationship between a father and daughter and will be shot in various locales in Uttar Pradesh. Besides Sanjay and Aditi, the film stars Shekhar Suman, Sharad Kelkar and TV actor Sidhant Gupta in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, apart from Bhoomi, Sanjay is helping Ranbir Kapoor to prep-up for his biopic being directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

Aditi, on the other hand, will be juggling two films. She will be shooting Bhoomi simultaneously with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s controversial period drama Padmavati where she plays the role of Alauddin Khilji’s (Ranveer Singh) wife.
