It was last month that Sanjay Dutt announced on social media that he was taking a short break from work for some medical treatment. He urged his well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate, saying that he would be back soon. Soon, reports of the actor’s lung cancer diagnosis hit the Internet, and it was being reported that he would fly off to the USA for further treatment. However, despite announcing a break, Sanjay Dutt resumed shooting for the action-adventure film Shamshera, starring Ranbir Kapoor.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Sanjay Dutt plays the role of the antagonist, while Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in a double role in the Karan Malhotra directorial. A source close to Sanjay Dutt informed Mumbai Mirror that the shooting of the film had been stuck owing to the Coronavirus induced lockdown, and Sanjay Dutt did not wish to push it further. “So, even though he is currently undergoing treatment, he reported at a city studio on Monday, taking all the necessary precautions and following the SOPs while on the set,” informs the source.
The source further added that Sanjay looked happy to be back in action and that he was energetic and in high spirits as he reeled off one shot after another. “It was evident from his attitude that he is going to face this crisis head-on, like the fighter that he is,” the source informed.
Over the last month, Sanjay Dutt has reportedly gone through several tests and has also started chemotherapy sessions. The actor has reportedly secured a five-year visa to the US on medical grounds.
