On August 8, Sanjay Dutt was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital after complaining of breathlessness. A day later, Dutt took to social media to inform his fans that he’s taking a short break for medical reasons. It was only after his social media post, when reports of Sanjay Dutt being diagnosed with Lung Cancer made headlines and took social media by storm. Maanayata Dutt soon flew to India to be by her husband's side during the tough time. Meanwhile, there were reports that Sanjay Dutt will fly to the US for the medical treatment of the deadly disease but was seeking a Visa.
Now here’s the latest update, Sanjay Dutt has been granted a 5-year visa for his visit to the US. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Dutt has been granted a five-year US visa and can now go there for treatment. However, the Sadak 2 actor is waiting for the results of his latest tests carried out at the Kokilaben Hospital before planning the next course of medical action. Sanjay Dutt is considering travelling abroad to countries like the US and Singapore for medical treatment. A source close to the family revealed to the Tabloid, “The family wants him to get the best possible treatment and they are leaving nothing to chance.”
For the unversed, as per the US policies if anyone is convicted in any case for five years and above, they need a special waiver to apply for a US visa. Sanjay Dutt was acquitted under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA), and convicted under the Arms Act. After he was in and out of prison, he was finally released from prison on February 25, 2016.
