Bollywood actress Sameera Reddy was one of the most beautiful actresses of her time. Having made her debut with Maine Dil Tujhko Diya (2022) opposite Sohail Khan, she was once termed as a ‘sex symbol’ for her glamorous presence on-screen. While she is doing her best to burst the stereotypes regarding the ideal beauty standards of a woman. In an interaction, she opened up about a time when she was asked to get a b**b job as it was the normal thing to do.
Calling it a crazy phase, Sameera told Mid-Day that while she had it all the stardom, the fame, she would often starve herself to achieve the desired look. She had to survive the entire day on just one Idli. Recalling the phase from 10 years ago, the actress revealed that asking actresses to go under the knife was very openly spoken about.
Quoted by Koimoi, she said, “I think there was a crazy phase about 10 years ago where everybody was getting plastic surgery, b**b job, change nose or bone structure. I had to always pad my chest and was told to get a b**b job done. Many times, I would think, ‘Should I? Is this the norm?’ because it was so openly spoken about and as an actor I questioned if I had to do it. But I didn’t and I am so grateful to God I didn’t because today I wouldn’t have been comfortable about it.”
While the situation hasn’t changed much, Sameera expressed how it is a person’s choice to get corrective surgeries. She said, “There are many people who choose corrective surgery and it is their choice. If it makes them happy, I say live and let live, who are we to judge”
For the unversed, the proud mother of two, Sameera has been using her Instagram handle to advocate for body positivity and self-love. She has often times opened up about her struggles as a mother and embracing oneself completely.
