When it's a Salman Khan event, you can be assured of a few laughs. After all, it's Sallu - the guy says it as it is. Diplomacy be damned!
The same held true again at the trailer launch of his upcoming film, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo today.
The family drama sees the superstar reuniting with his favourite director Sooraj Barjatya after a gap of 16 years. Right from Maine Pyaar Kiya to Hum Aapke Hain Koun to Hum Saath Saath Hain, Salman has essayed the character of Prem in every Barjatya movie that he acted in. No wonder then, the actor missed 'Prem' sorely.
Now, if you're anybody else, you'll say that in so many words. But it's apna Sallu - he has his own style of conveying his emotions.
So what did he do? The actor joked, "I missed Prem so much that I ended up doing an Anees Bazmee film," and broke into laughter.
You see, the actor's character in Bazmee's No Entry was called Prem.
Why did Salman feel the need to poke fun at the film? After all, the 2005 release was a box-office success - that too, at a time when Salman was in dire need of hits. Well, that's a question only he can answer.
You may remember that the Kick star has not shown much interest in being a part of the sequel (Salman not a part of No Entry Mein Entry, June 5).
Hmmm...should we read between the lines?
