The second wave of COVID-19 in India has been devastating. There has been a shortage of medical supplies, hospital beds, and the healthcare system is struggling to keep up. The shooting of films and television shows had also come to a halt, and the film industry workers who work on sets, have also been facing a tough time financially. Now, Salman Khan, who has been distributing food packets to frontline warriors amid the COVID-19 crisis, will also be financially helping film industry workers in need. As per reports, he will donate Rs 1500 to 25,000 workers.

According to a report in ETimes, Salman Khan has extended financial support to film industry workers- from technicians, to stuntmen, spotboys, and makeup artists. Salman will be donating Rs 1500 to 25000 workers.  This was confirmed by the Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) president BN Tiwari. While speaking to ETimes, he said that they have sent a list of names of people in financial need, and Salman Khan has agreed to deposit the money.

Apart from this, BN Tiwari said that Yash Raj Films have also agreed to provide financial aid during this tough time, and that a list of 35,000 senior citizens workers has been sent to YRF. They will reportedly be donating Rs 5000 and a monthly ration for a family of 4.

On the work front, Salman Khan will next be seen in Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. The film is all set to release this Eid in theatres worldwide, and on ZEE5 with pay-per-view service ZEEPlex. Salman Khan and the producers have pledged to donate revenue from the film for Covid aid.
