Salman Khan created headlines when at a promotional event of his recently released film, Race 3, he was asked about his opinion on good friend, Sanjay Dutt’s biopic, Sanju. Salman had said that he would have liked to see Dutt play himself in the last 7-8 years of the film, as he felt no one can play that part better than him.

And now, Ranbir Kapoor while addressing a section of media has expressed his opinion on Salman’s statement. Ranbir said, “It has never happened that a person played himself in his own biopic. This destroys the effect of a character. I knew that I will be compared to Sanjay Dutt and that is why I have tried my best to do justice to his role. Whether people see me in 40-year old Sanjay Dutt's avatar or 20-year old, they should feel that they are watching an artist who is playing Sanjay Dutt. It is correct that I cannot become a second Sanjay Dutt.”

It’s a known fact that Ranbir Kapoor and Salman Khan have a history, courtesy their ex-girlfriend, Katrina Kaif. Although Salman did a cameo in Ranbir’s debut film Saawariya and also Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, the equation between the two soured over their common love interest. Since then the two have usually avoided crossing each other’s path. Salman had once embarrassed Katrina Kaif at a public event by addressing her as Katrina Kapoor.
And talking about Ranbir’s reply to Salman, looks like the itch hasn’t gone yet.
