Each time Salman Khan hits the theatres on Eid, it is a huge event for all his fans. His films complete the Eid celebration for a lot of his fans. The same thing happened this time as well with Radhe, except that it was a virtual event, keeping the pandemic situation in mind. Superstar Salman Khan cemented his position as the country’s ‘Most Wanted Bhai’ with his recent film ‘Radhe’ recording an unparalleled viewership on its opening day. The star kept to his commitment of releasing the mass entertainer on Eid, a tradition he’s maintained for years now and like always entertained millions of people, this time in the comfort of their home.
Salman Khan has had the majority of his big films released on the occasion of Eid which makes it a special time for the superstar. Some of those films have been Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Kick (2014), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Sultan (2016) which went on to become some of the biggest blockbusters of all time and Radhe now joins the illustrious list.
The superstar stepped into his best-looking and most indestructible avatar yet in the masala entertainer, seasoned with every ingredient a die-hard Salman Khan fan desires. Such was the hysteria it created that the film went on to cross the conservative estimates by leaps and bounds and even crashed servers temporarily, owing to the unprecedented digital traffic.
Radhe's multi-format release also empowered the Indian film industry to adopt an out-of-the-box approach while giving audiences something to look forward to during these grim times. The success of his release model has paved the way for a lot of other big films to adopt this to entertain the audiences at a much lesser cost while they stay at home.
Says a trade source, “Over the years Salman Khan has become synonymous with Eid. He completely owns the space. Eid is a time for celebration, where audiences crave entertainment and no one does that better than Salman. He knows his audience, he understands them, sticks to the promises he makes to them and gives them what they want.” Salman Khan has ruled the industry for 3 decades now and we don’t see that changing anytime soon as he continues to remain the ‘hero of the masses’.
