A few days back we saw lights back in Bollywood’s
favourite preview theatre- Lightbox, as Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon’s screenings
were held there.
And now SpotboyE.com knows the reason for this. As we
know that the preview theatre, which was owned by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh
Sidhwani, shut down a few months back due to financial reasons which was quite
serious and complicated as well.
Farhan and Ritesh responded by shutting down Lightbox, to
avoid a drain on their funds as the theatre’s upkeep is a costly business.

But now it’s back in action. Well yes, the latest update
is that Salman Khan's business partner Prashant Gunjalkar has bought the
theatre from Farhan and Ritesh.
According to our source, a few ago, Salman Khan &
Prashant had a plan to buy Bandra's Ketnav theatre but later dropped the plan.
Reason? Apparently, Ketnav was in a bad condition and needed an extensive
renovation which would have cost a huge amount. So, Salman Khan decided to drop
the idea of buying the theatre.

Recently, when Salman Khan heard the news that Farhan and
Ritesh have shut the theatre, he jumped on the opportunity and his business
partner Prashant Gunjalkar reached out to Farhan Akhtar & Ritesh Sidhwani
for further completion of the buying procedure.
The theatre was launched in 2012 by Farhan Akhtar and his
business partner Ritesh Sidhwani and was an instant hit. Aamir Khan’s Dangal
was the last film to be previewed there in December 2016.
