In response to the Uri attacks that killed 18 Indian soldiers, the Indian army opened a surgical strike on Pakistan on September 28 midnight. India attacked terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control, inflicting heavy casualties.
At the cultural end, MNS has asked for a complete ban on Pakistani artistes in Indian films. Expressing his opinion on the matter, Salman Khan, at an event in New Delhi, spoke about maintaining peaceful relations between the countries.
He said, “There is a difference between terrorists and artistes. Pak artistes come with permission, terrorists don't.”
Last week, Raj Thackeray’s MNS party had last week issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Pakistani artistes and actors including Fawad Khan and Ali Zafar, to leave India or else they would be “pushed out”. In fact, yesterday, we told you that The Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) has now decided not to work with Pakistani artistes until peace returns between India and Pakistan (IMPPA Bans Pakistani Artistes, Sep 29).
