It turned out to be as tough as training for the Olympics. We mean, getting Salman Khan to shoot an ad for the upcoming Rio Olympics, which begins on August 5.
We hear, the actor, who is a Goodwill Ambassador of the Indian contingent at the Games, had to be chased for 4 months before he agreed to shoot for the ad film on July 30 (Saturday) at Mehboob Studio.
So yesterday, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor cycled down from his Galaxy Apartments home in Bandra to Mehboob Studio. Seems, he wanted to escape public attention and the plan worked brilliantly. Never mind that he was already running 3 hours late.

Says a source from the set, “The roll time for Salman was 3 pm, but he arrived at the studio only at 6 pm. Once he arrived, he got busy with a few media interviews. By the time the shoot began, it was 8 pm. However, he quickly shot the countdown and an ad for the Games.”
Salman’s appointment as the Goodwill Ambassador had triggered a lot of controversies. Certain members from the country’s sports fraternity had questioned the actor’s appointment.
On his part, Sallu had justified his ambassadorship. Speaking to a section of the media, a furious Salman asked why nobody questioned A.R Rahman and Sachin Tendulkar’s selection also as the Games ambassadors. “Why didn’t the media give them the same coverage that they gave me? In their case too, while one isn’t a sportsperson, the other has only played one sport,” he said.
He also questioned the very definition of a sportsperson. “Does Rahman need a state-level certificate or a national-level medal to be called a sportsperson? In fact, all the kids who have tried out certain sports and haven’t won a medal, aren’t sportspersons? All the kids who follow a sportsperson aren’t sportspersons? So why just pick me?” he asked.
