Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, widely known as the ‘Tragedy King’ was one of the finest and greatest actors that we have in Hindi cinema. In July, last year, he died due to prolonged illness at the age of 98. His wife Saira Banu has been struggling to come to terms with his sad demise and had even confessed she is unable to get over Dilip Kumar's loss. Recently, Saira got emotional and broke down in tears as she accepted Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar Award on his behalf.
On Tuesday, at an event, the late actor was conferred with the Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar Award and on his behalf, Saira received the award and bouquet of flowers from Union Minister Ramdas Athawale. She could not hold back her tears while remembering Dilip and said he is still here with her. Indian Express quoted Saira Banu as saying, “Dilip Sahab has been the ‘Kohinoor’ for Hindustan. So ‘Kohinoor’ should definitely receive a Bharat Ratna. He’s still here. He is not in my memories, I believe it’s the truth that he is here with me at every step, because this is how I will be able to live my life.” ALSO READ:
