There were reports that said Saif Ali Khan shelled out a huge sum of money to get back his ancestral home, Pataudi Palace. The actor has now, however, clarified that he only cleared the lease, and not literally re-buy his ancestral home. Spread across 10 acres, this sprawling palace has 150 rooms. It was leased to the Neemrana group of hotels, which managed this property till 2014.

“It wasn’t really re-buying, it was clearing a lease and blah blah. Money has not come easy also,” Saif told Bollywood Bubble. He added that many businesses that run in the country are family-owned, and fortunes come as a part and parcel of it, but it was not the case with their family. “I mean, half the businessmen in this country and all these guys are the people who inherited fortunes and we didn’t. But we are more privileged than people who are badly off.”

Saif also spoke about his financial struggles. He said, “Whatever my financial struggles are, they exist and they have existed, but they cannot be compared to so many people. I have problems but now if I compare it, it seems silly to them."

“All you can do is be kind, be respectful to the people around you, pay your taxes and try to be decent to and support the people who work with us. We are kind of like the insurance agency for them… Educating people’s children etc, you do your bit.” ALSO READ: Saif Ali Khan Reveals Kareena Kapoor Khan's Advice On Tackling Trolls; 'My Wife Told Me To Not Look Myself Up Online'
