Sahil Khattar, who is looking forward to his debut in Bollywood with Kabir Khan’s 83, in an exclusive chat with Spotboye, Khattar spoke about how it was working on the film, "Oh it was fantastic, we were treated as cricket royalties. We went to Lloyd’s and played, we went to the oval we played. Wherever we used to go, we used to have VIP access because we used to not shoot there but we also use to be there to do research,” he said.
Sahil who will be essaying the role of cricketer Syed Kirmani, speaks about how ecstatic he was meeting the legendary cricketer. "So when I met Kiri bhai for the first time I was like, 'Oh Kiri Bhai! Because our look really matches a lot and then he called me by his name I was like half of the work is done here. Plus I am also very athletic and I have won a bronze medal for India in Roller Hockey, so for me, wicket-keeping was not easy but it was a part already paved for. To talk in Kiri bhai‘s way, his action and accent, was an inspiration for me. To be treated as the Nawab of wicket-keepers which is Mr. Syed Kirmani I think it was a dream come true," said the actor. Sahil further adds with a heavy heart, " I just hope that the circle of the project gets complete as soon as possible and this film gets released. And people watch it really in a nice way and get entertained, get enthralled, and then again give us really good reactions. But unless and until it doesn’t happen that story is still halfway done."
The actor who shares the screen space with Ranveer Singh was all praise for him, he says, "Ranveer is maddening when we used to be in the same frame or same scene it was like when a volcano meets a tornado, it’s that kind of vibe. It was difficult for others to handle us. When we used to stand together Kabir sir used to say 'please let's take the shot, can we start? So working with him is like working with your elder brother because the kind of mentoring the kind of suggestions and the kind of questions that I could ask him and get knowledge out of him was brilliant. God should bless each and everyone with a co-actor like Ranveer."
Directed by Kabir Singh '83 was slated to release last year however, due to the ongoing pandemic, the release of the film is on pause.
