Actress Saba Qamar, who essayed the role of Mita in Hindi
Medium opposite Irrfan Khan was reduced
to tears in an interview recently. The actress had appeared on a television channel
in Pakistan to speak about Zainab Ansari, a 7-year-old girl who was raped and
murdered. In the video, which has now gone viral, she also spoke about the humiliation
that she went through at Tbilisi Airport.

“When we went to Tbilisi to shoot for a film, the Indian
crew was allowed to go, but I was stopped. It was because of my passport. I was
from Pakistan. They did full investigation. They let me go only after an
interview,” said a teary-eyed Saba.
The actress also added, “That’s the day I realised where we stand. We talk dinners, parties and what not but the ground reality is completely different.”
The video evoked a few reactions from the Twitterati. One of the Internet user also asked Saba to apply for an Indian citizenship.

Saba Qamar became a household name in India after her television show Maat aired on channel Zindigi. She has starred in shows like Jinnah Ke Naam, Thakan, Dastaan, and Main Aurat Hoon. In 2013, Saba Qamar starred in Aina, a film made for television. She has also starred in the Pakistani films Manto, Karachi Se Lahore and Lahore Se Aagey.
