Filmmaker Rumy Jafry has been in the news lately for multiple reasons. As per latest report, he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and is currently under home quarantine. Due to his current situation, he will be unable to participate in the promotions of his film 'Chehre' which is slated to release on Friday. Rumy is currently in Hyderabad.

Speaking to ETimes, Rumy Jafry said, "I was in Hyderabad for my daughter's wedding and all my friends including Neetu Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and many other friends attended the wedding which was held in the first week of August. I thank God that I contracted the disease only on August 15. All those who came to the wedding went home safe."

When asked if he will miss watching his own film, Rumy said that luckily all the work around the film has been completed as the film was earlier slated to release in April. Adding to that, he said that he will do a test again later this week and if he tests negative, he will be able to come to Mumbai or else he will watch the film in Hyderabad on its release day. Directed by Rumy, Chehre stars Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, Krystle D'Souza and Rhea Chakraborty. The trailer received an amazing response and many are looking forward to the film. Talking about his daughter, Alfia's wedding made a lot of buzz. For the uninitiated, Alfia's mehendi function was graced by Krystle D'Souza and Rhea Chakraborty. Several pictures and videos from the mehendi ceremony went viral on social media.
