Post Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the late actor’s father filed an FIR in Patna accusing Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty of abetment of suicide. Rhea became the target of online hate, and only a few people came out supporting a fair trial for Rhea. Filmmaker Rumi Jaffery is one of them and he recently spoke about a fair trial for Rhea. He also said that he is positive Rhea will get through this phase, and will be ready to bounce back.
Before Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, Runi Jaffery was all set to work on a film with Sushant and Rhea together. While speaking to Mid-Day, Rumi Jaffery said that time is the best healer, and he is sure that Rhea will come out of it and get through this phase. “I am confident she will get through this phase. Everybody around will advise you to be brave, but only the one going through [the ordeal] knows how difficult it is. Time is the best healer; with time, she will be fine. She is a talented artiste and will be ready to bounce back,” he said.
Rumi Jaffery said that people jumped to their own conclusions on the matter, but they should have waited for the judiciary to give its verdict. He believes that every coin has two sides, and that Rhea Chakraborty should also get a fair trial. “I have the highest regard for those who supported her then,” added Rumi.
Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau a few months ago in connection with the drugs case related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. Rhea was granted bail by the Bombay High Court after almost a month. While speaking to SpotboyE, Runi Jaffery revealed how spending almost a month in jail completely crushed Rhea Chakraborty’s morale. Read more about it here.
