A Public Interest Petition (PIL) was filed by a student hailing from West Godavari district, in the Telangana High Court seeking to issue a Censor Certificate and restrain the producer of Roudram Ranam and Rudiram (RRR) to release the movie.

The student has asked for a stay on the release of the film and alleged that the film distorts the history of the two freedom fighters and hence a censor certificate should not be issued to them.

The case was heard by Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice Venkateswara Reddy. Later, the former, said that the PJ would therefore hold a CJ tribunal hearing.

Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice Venkateswara Reddy to hear the case. Justice Ujjal Bhuyan said that it was public interest litigation and the CJ bench will hear the case.

Meanwhile, the RRR team is yet to issue a statement about the same.

For the unversed, mega power star Rama Charan is playing the role of Alluri Sita Ramaraju as the tribal hero Alluri Sitharamaraju whereas Jr NTR is essaying Komaram Bheem.

The makers have postponed the release of the film due to the spread of the new variant Omicron along with Corona in the country.
