Riteish Deshmukh To Mark His Digital Debut With A Social Comedy Helmed By Veere Di Wedding Director Shashanka Ghosh

Many Hindi film and TV actors have paved their way into the digital world especially the OTT space. Along with their movies being streamed on the OTT platforms, some of the big stars of Bollywood are also marking their debut on it. After Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani, their Masti franchise co-star Riteish Deshmukh is also set to soak his feet in the OTT space. As reported in Peepingmoon, the actor will star in a project to be helmed by Shashanka Ghosh.

The film is said to be streamed on Netflix on its release. As per reports the movie was scheduled to go on floors in February but has been pushed ahead due to the second wave of COVID-19. Report states, “This Netflix Original was earlier supposed to go on floors in late February but was pushed after the Maharashtra government announced the lockdown in response to the devastating COVID-19 wave currently ravaging India.” Now it is said, it is likely to go on floors in July 2021 only if the restrictions on shooting are lifted. The report further adds, “The film is now scheduled to hit the floors in July if the shooting restrictions are lifted by then.”

Revealing about the actor’s character, reports mentioned Riteish will be playing a larger-than-life role in the social comedy, which is set to release in 2022.  “Riteish Deshmukh is said to be playing a larger-than-life character in this social-comedy, meant for a 2022 premiere,” as per reports.


Produced by well-known writer, Rajat Arora, it will star one of the popular actresses from the South film industry. Ritesh will begin shooting for it after he wraps up a trilogy on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj helmed by Nagraj Manjule.
